Foresite completed the 30,000 sq. ft. installation of Cat6A and speaker wire; A/V full automation system with (16) speaker-zones of audio; (5 ) surround-sound zones; (17) TV/monitors/displays; thermostat control; (4) megapixel cameras with NVR and mobile viewing; (2) WiFi access points; access notification integration; handheld remotes and (16) touch panels in 16 zones.

Security Camera System

Converted analog cameras to HD using the existing RG59 cabling infrastructure and completed the design and installation of 36 Indoor Outdoor/Varifocal Dome Camera system at a special needs school in Bloomingdale IL. The system included: night vision cameras; 12,000 ft. of Cat5e cable with baluns and analog cameras (upgradeable to IP cameras with new cable structure); (3) 16 Channel DVR with 2TB hard drive; and mobile app integration.

Foresite installed new camera equipment to work with existing hotel network, improve operations, reduce risk, increase security, and provide ease of maintenance at an elegant Chicago restaurant. The camera project required 360-degree cameras with SureVision, a DVR, (30) 2-port network outlets, (3) WiFi APs, 20,000 ft. of CAT6 cable, POS system, and phone system.

Foresite furnished, installed and maintains (10) Outdoor PTZ cameras, (23) In-Outdoor vandal-proof IR Dome cameras and (3) 16 Channel, 480fps, H.264, Ethernet DVRs with Looping Outputs using 6000 feet of RG59 Siamese 18/2 cable. This installation provided staff with live video of its common areas and classrooms, and required a 500’ directional bore from the facility’s MDF to the parking lot for night vision imaging. This also included IR component allowing automobile license plate viewing.

Security System Upgrade

To upgrade an existing, Foresite-installed security system, Foresite installed (35) HD-TVI cameras using existing RG59 coaxial cable. Cameras had new standard allowing 1080p over existing coaxial cabling, offering HD picture quality and allowing more detailed views of a scene. Rather than a technician needing a ladder to adjust a camera, all camera adjustments/firmware upgrades were done remotely via GUI interface, saving time and effort. Remote digital zoom was also available providing more accurate imaging when required.

Security Camera System
The Godfrey Hotel, Chicago, IL

Foresite designed and built an IP Security Camera Surveillance System at one of Chicago’s premier luxury hotels to protect operations, reduce risk, increase security, and provide ease of use and maintenance. The system consisted of: (60) IP megapixel cameras throughout hotel to best capture points of ingress/egress activity; POE switches to power all cameras over Cat6 which connected to the fiber backbone for transmission of video to NVR with 3TB HDD records with H.264 compression and capability to store approximately 20 days of footage. The system was configured with two network cards allowing cameras to reside on their private LAN. Foresite provided and installed necessary camera licenses; furnished, configured, and installed (18) outdoor/Environmental-rated IP cameras in all exterior and/or parking garage locations. (8) of the cameras were equipped with vendor technology to compensate for extreme lighting contrast. Cameras automatically toggled between full color and day/night capability with sensitivity down to .03 lux or .0013 lux. Foresite also furnished and installed vendor software allowing remote users to monitor the system.

To protect operations, reduce risk, increase security, and provide ease of use and maintenance for this assisted living facility, Foresite installed new camera equipment. Meeting the timeline set by the general contractor, Foresite designed and built four subsystems consisting of (15) Outdoor Pan Tilt Zoom cameras; (80) Indoor vandal-proof IR dome cameras; (4) 16 Channel, 2TB, 480fps, Ethernet DVR with looping outputs; (4) 8 Channel, 2TB, 240fps, H.264, Ethernet DVR with Looping Outputs, 30,000 ft. of RG59 Siamese 18/2 cable. The entire system is remotely accessible by authorized staff and integrated into the facility’s computer network.

Foresite provides 24/7/365 technical support to more than 5,000 users of Foresite-installed WiFi systems at (30) different locations throughout the US. Foresite also maintains and services over (400) enterprise-grade access points and all their peripheral components at (70) different locations throughout the US.

Wide Area Wireless Broadband Network

Foresite designed, built, operated, and maintained a Wide Area Wireless Broadband Network that provided at least 10Mbps of reliable high-speed internet to all facilities within the coverage area. The network needed to be profitable, have a life span of 10 years, and deliver a return on investment to our affiliates. The system was located on buildings and towers throughout the Chicago Metro Area providing internet service to over 1800 valued customers. Foresite furnished and installed (90) new point-to-multipoint access points at (20) antenna site facilities, and furnished and installed (8) new point-to-point microwave antennas at (4) antenna site facilities. In addition, Foresite furnished, installed, configured, and supported (2) fiber circuits at two locations and (1) high-powered point-to-point microwave connection to both fiber circuit locations as a fail-safe backup system. Foresite uploaded new firmware to all active devices in the system as available.

In-Building Cellular Coverage in Communications Facility

Foresite was tasked with securing an in-building cellular coverage agreement that would generate new revenue, cover the entire facility, and offer 1.5Mbps of aggregate throughput per device. All scope items were met with the memorialization of a License Agreement for a Distributed Antenna System with Verizon. By calling on our contacts in the industry, we provided ownership with consultation and advice; delivered reports and written updates; assessed key characteristics of the facility and structured cabling system; documented and managed access for contractors and visitors; assured all construction met applicable codes; assured FCC/Carrier approvals and compliance with applicable laws and regulations; verified and documented Certificates of Insurance; ensured shop drawings were processed, tracked and communicated to both owner and field members, and were incorporated into the as-built documents.

Foresite was hired to audit an existing antenna site to ensure that any item added, changed, or replaced that did not apply within the terms and conditions of the underlying agreement was either removed or included in a new agreement. The audit resulted in a $450.00/month increase in rent from a rooftop carrier. Foresite assured FCC/FAA compliance; assured local electrical compliance; provided ownership with consultation and advice; thoroughly read the entire agreement and all exhibits and drawings; verified all past and present rental payments were correct; delivered reports and written updates; assessed all relevant key characteristics of the facility, utilities, raceways and roofing system; documented Certificates of Insurance; ensure that all shop drawings/field modifications were processed, tracked, and incorporated into the as-built documents. The Godfrey Hotel Boston is the second Godfrey Hotel communication system developed by Foresite (the first was The Godfrey Hotel Chicago). The Godfrey Hotel Boston is situated in the heart of Boston's business district. Positioned as the most technologically advanced hotel in Boston, The Godfrey offers its tenants, guests, and visitors a range of technology amenities including mobile networking. Due to the success of our first Godfrey project in Chicago, Foresite produced all necessary drawings and specifications, provided project management and technology consulting to stay within budget and meet all milestones. Foresite’s services were provided by a BICSI Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD). The wireless mobile coverage and capacity is enterprise-grade. Supporting both cellular 800/1900MHz; and WiFi 2.4/5GHz frequency operation with gigabit data rates.

To enable onsite renovations at this Michigan Avenue hotel, Foresite relocated all technology-related systems away from the portion of the building that was being demolished and ensured that all systems were restored back to fully functioning state in new server room location. Foresite produced all necessary communications drawings and specifications, and provided project management including vendor management and technology consulting to stay within budget, meet all milestones. The deliverables provided by a BICSI Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) included cost estimations, relevant value add alternatives, formal review of progress drawings, design criteria and program requirements, coordination with architects, designers, MEP engineering team and general contractor to designate spaces, pathways, power and HVAC necessary for the communication systems to function efficiently and prolong end-of-life projections. Foresite designated cabling drop, pathways, and entrance facility locations. Using CAD background files from architect, designed bid and construction drawings for the communication trades.

For Chicago newest luxury hotel LondonHouse, Foresite designed communication drawings and specifications for the communication trades using CAD background files from the architect. Foresite also provided project management and technology consulting by a BICSI Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD). Deliverables included cost estimations, relevant value-add alternatives, and a formal review of progress drawings, design criteria, and program requirements. Foresite coordinated with architects, designers, MEP engineering team, and general contractor to designate spaces, pathways, raceways, power, and HVAC necessary for the communication system. Designated structured cabling raceway locations and entrance facility.

In-building and Outdoor WiFi System

This award-winning flagship property opened in February 2014 in Chicago's River North neighborhood. Foresite designed, built, and operated a WiFi system for this Chicago premier boutique hotel. The system needed to provide complete coverage and capacity for all devices, meet minimum data rates in both standard and dense situations, and provide connectivity to all peripheral systems such as CATV, security camera, IDF, MDF and back-office computer network. Foresite used active, passive, indoor, and outdoor devices with gigabit data rate capacity. The system is operated and maintained by Foresite.
